With Dionne Warwick After An Evening with Dionne Warwick at Bally’s Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas: The Legend’s Performance was Pleasing, Powerful and Unforgettable; She’s Joined in Performance by Talented Family Members; A Concert Worth Seeing
Recently, we released our CYInterview with singer/songwriter Dionne Warwick. In it we discussed everything from her then upcoming limited run of Las Vegas shows to her new album, She’s Back, out next month [see here]. On Thursday night, CYInterview was on hand for her opening night performance at the Jubilee Theater at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, here in Las Vegas.
If you are in Las Vegas or planning to be, during the next month, An Evening with Dionne Warwick is well worth seeing. Her performance is inspiring and her vocals are soothing. During her set, she sings new versions of I Say A Little Prayer and Do You Know The Way to San Jose? Ms. Warwick who has spent part of her life living in Brazil also gives a tribute to the music of that South American country.
Dionne’s concert is a family affair. Her son David Elliott is part of the band. At the end of the performance, Ms. Warwick sings a few songs with her granddaughter, Cheyenne Elliott, who is David’s daughter. Dionne and Cheyenne got the audience to participate when they sang What The World Needs Now. In her early 20s, Cheyenne is an excellent singer in her own right. Her music career is worth keeping an eye on.
After the show, I had a chance to meet Dionne Warwick backstage. See our photo above.
Simply being in Ms. Warwick’s presence is bound to make you feel good. Though a music legend, she is simply a nice, down to earth person who loves what she does.
At 78 years old, Dionne Warwick does not appear to have slowed down. She performs at a high level. If we can take anything away from her almost six decade career, it is that age is only a number. Go see her if you have the opportunity.
