Last night’s season finale of Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty on HBO and HBO Max showed us just how challenging winning is and how long-term success begins.
The foundation was laid for the Los Angeles Lakers dynasty after winning the 1980 NBA Championship against the Philadelphia 76ers.
There are many great performers in this series. Last night’s focus was on Magic Johnson, played by Quincy Isaiah. In his role as the Laker great, the actor projected energy and a likability factor that comes through the screen.
The last scene in the finale was with actor John C. Reilly, as Lakers owner Jerry Buss. The finale is most certainly a cliffhanger. It makes us anxious to begin watching season two. We will just have to be patient.
