Washington State Surprises the Experts: Coach Mike Leach’s Cougars, Now 8-1, are the Great Story of this College Football Season; Coach Leach Discusses, More
The performance of Washington State’s football team may be the greatest story of this college football season, at least so far. Most experts predicted that the team would be lucky to make a bowl game this year. However, Washington State head football coach, NY Times bestselling author and CYInterview regular Mike Leach has surpassed all of the sports world’s predictions of what his team would do this year.
On how his team, which was projected to be rebuilding this year, is now 8-1 and among the teams that could very well have a chance to play for the national title, Coach Leach said it is the fact this team is very coachable. In our CYInterview, it is evident he believes it is going to take continued focus and getting better every week to win the next four games and, in so doing, have a shot at being in the College Football Playoff.
Aside from that, Coach Leach takes a moment away from all the football success to talk movies he has seen recently including A Star is Born with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in which he thought the acting was good, as well as discuss superhero and comic book films and how one time he peeked into a convention of people dressed up as fury animals while on the recruiting trail.
That and more is in our latest discussion with the Washington State head football coach. You can listen to the entire CYInterview below:
