Undefeated WBC Lightweight World Champion Devin Haney Training for Memorial Day Weekend Bout vs. Jorge Linares
Undefeated boxer Devin Haney is getting ready for his big fight on Memorial Day Weekend against Jorge Linares. He is currently training at SNAC in San Carlos, California. It is a nutrition and training center that sponsors a variety of boxers including Caleb Plant and Shawn Porter who we met at the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame in 2019 [see here].
Mr. Haney, who is the WBC Lightweight World Champion, recently spoke with Boxing writer Steve Kim and shared with him that the upcoming bout in Las Vegas will feature his toughest opponent yet:
“He’s by far the best opponent up to date. I was happy that this was a fight that the boxing fans would appreciate. I’ve been calling for the top guys, the so-called top guys, and none of them is quick to jump in the ring with me. I mean you name them, and I’ve called them out, and none of them wanted to fight me. If you claim that I haven’t fought anybody it’s because they won’t fight me. Right now, we can’t jump ahead, the main focus is Jorge Linares.”
The fight will take place at the Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on May 29th.
