The last year has been one adventure after another for Miami entrepreneur /philanthropist/socialite Lea Black. With the expansion of her skincare line, her handbag collection now in stores and a novel slated for publication in 2014, The Real Housewives of Miami star is busier than ever.
From her office in Brickell where we first CYInterviewed her back in January [see here], to our second CYinterview at her home in Coral Gables [see here], to attending The Blacks’ Annual Gala at the Fontainebleau hotel [see here], to being invited back to her home for a private party with country music star John Rich [see here], we have seen the lovely Lea in a host of Miami contexts.
Back in April, at The Blacks’ Annual Gala, we met the fun and down to earth shoe designer Lisa Pliner [see here]. Though we only spoke with her briefly on the red carpet that evening, it was memorable.
Lisa and her husband, shoe mogul Donald J. Pliner, have left their mark on the fashion industry. She is the creative director behind Donald J. Pliner luxury shoes, which caters to both men and women. Their company has stores in six major malls in places like Miami, Las Vegas and Houston.

Videoing of the annual charity soiree has taken place for the last couple of years for The Real Housewives of Miami and a crew was on hand again shooting for a third consecutive year.
Back in January we spoke with Lea Black of The Real Housewives of Miami [see here] about her life and current projects. Her yearly charity event, the Black Gala, is being held this year on April 13th, at the world renowned Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach.
The Black Gala is one Miami’s biggest social gatherings of the year. It is the event that everyone wants to be seen at. Yearly, the city’s rich and famous turn out not just for the fun but in order to support a worthy cause.
When I arrived at her office, Lea Black greeted me with the kind of hello you might offer your next door neighbor. It is the kind of welcome that immediately puts you at ease. Dressed in a pink blouse and jeans, The Real Housewives of Miami star was as sunny as a typical South Florida day. To meet Lea is to immediately like her.
Last month we shared with you our photos from White Party 2012 [see here]. At that event, I met the incredible Lea Black, who among other things, appears on The Real Housewives of Miami. Many will recall that Lea’s husband, prominent Miami attorney Roy Black, has joined us on CYInterview on a number of occasions [see here].
