We are only hours away from the College Football Playoff. The Alabama Crimson Tide plays the Washington Huskies in the Peach Bowl and the Ohio State Buckeyes face off against the Clemson Tigers in the Fiesta Bowl. The winner of both of those games will play for the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 9th. To breakdown both matchups, we welcome back veteran college football expert Phil Steele. He is the editor of a long running preseason magazine for the sport. Mr. Steele provides his analysis on the two games that will be watched by millions of sports fans across the country.
When it comes to non-conference games in week 1 of the college football season, this year’s set of games may be the best ever. With the college football playoff in its second year of existence, teams are now adding better opponents to their schedules. The four teams who play for the national title are selected by a committee who reviews every team’s resume. A win over a strong non conference opponent can be the difference for some team’s national title hopes. Though the college football season does not get underway to September 3rd, there is already lots of excitement building for the upcoming season. Few people can provide you in-depth analysis about every team, like Phil can. We welcome back the veteran NCAA football expert and TV personality for our 2015 college football preview. Every year some teams improve, some underperform and now four teams ultimately end up playing in the playoff for the national title. The defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes look to be the preseason favorite to go undefeated, make the playoff and repeat as national champions.
