    UFC Co-Founder Art Davie Talks: Documentary, 12 November; Progress on His Feature Film, UFC Heading to New York, More

    Earlier this month, the author of Is This Legal? The Inside Story of the First UFC From The Man Who Created It, Art Davie, went back to Torrance, California with a documentary film crew. Torrance could well be considered the birthplace of the UFC. The documentary being filmed, 12 November, is slated to air in Brazil first, with future distribution in America. It will focus on the UFC’s first promotion, which took place on November 12, 1993. Understandably, returning to his old stomping grounds brought back memories for Art. We welcome back Art Davie for a chat about the 12 November documentary.

With his father being a performer as well, it was Mario’s desire to be in the entertainment business. A few months back, Mario reached out to us here, at CYInterview, telling us he wanted to inform our audience about who he is and what he hopes to accomplish as an actor. We decided to take him up on his offer.

Her business just launched a mobile phone app that you can download in the Google Plus Store and Apple Store, called the Iconiq Style App.

    Sunday was the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. What has come to be known as 9/11 is a day Americans remember and pay their respects to those most directly impacted by one of the darkest days in the nation’s history. Native New Yorker Angelo Guglielmo is a documentary filmmaker and author. His Emmy nominated documentary The Woman Who Wasn’t There, featured some of the survivors who were in the Twin Towers that day.     Last year we brought you the story of child acting star Mason Reese [see here]. He is best known for his 1970s commercials, being the first celebrity from commercials to be on the cover of TV Guide and his numerous appearances on the Mike Douglas Show. Today, his life focuses on a variety of projects in the music industry and his enduring passion to get a TV pilot he shot picked up. The TV pilot Mason is working on called Life Interrupted has many prominent TV stars attached to it, including Dawn Wells from Gilligan’s Island, Erin Murphy from Bewitched and Alison Arngrim from Little House on the Praire, among others. Mason says there will be new developments on the project in early 2017.

    In September of 2012, we attended a swimsuit fashion show by designer Natalya Toporova [see here]. The invitation to that show came about in an interesting way. Sometime before the show took place, we had the opportunity to cover a performance by Grammy Award winner Mya, at the South Beach club Mokai [see here]. It was a great night. In fact, we had the opportunity to hang with Mya before and after her performance. Not only is she a great singer, she is a terrific person. That evening, Mya was wearing a particularly eye catching dress designed by Ms. Toporova. The design was so well done that we got in touch with her and that led to the invitation. At the swimsuit fashion show, one of the models we met was Kiara Pace. Fast forward from 2012 to 2014, Kiara decided that she wanted to take her modeling career from Miami to New York. After saving enough money, selling her car and finding an apartment, she took off for the Big Apple.

    Known as The Genius, the Poet Laureate of Professional Wrestling and “Leaping” Lanny, Lanny Poffo is one of the greatest professional wrestling personalities of the last 50 years. His ability to recite different poems during wrestling promos proved him an original talent. Lanny hails from one of the greatest families in pro wrestling history. His brother is the late, great “Macho Man” Randy Savage [see segment with him from 2003 here] and his late father Angelo Poffo was a territorial wrestling legend and promoter. Today, Lanny is taking care of his mother, while continuing to give motivational speeches. He also appears on the pro wrestling independent circuit. Through tragedy, Lanny has found himself as the person in his family who now has to make what he calls unpopular decisions. With the passing of his brother “Macho Man” Randy Savage in 2011, Lanny decided that he should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by himself. This was against his brother’s wishes, who wanted the entire family to be inducted together. In 2015, Lanny appeared before a crowd of WWE fans, wrestlers and others to induct his brother into that year’s WWE Hall of Fame class.
