It was earlier this year we introduced you to first time author Ed Jakubik [see more]. At the time, the writer told us his psychological thriller The Doll Collector would be available for purchase on June 1st. However, sometimes things do not go as planned. Mr. Jakubik claims he ran into some editorial issues that prevented the release of his book in June. Recently, the title was finally released on Amazon in an ebook format.
Before reaching 18, she was living the fantasy of many teenage girls. Kylie Bisuitti was traveling the world and living the life of a successful model. Though she claims there were instances when some tried to take advantage of her, with the support of family, she continued on.
Her modeling career reached its high point when in 2009 she won the Victoria Secret Angel contest, beating out thousands of other hopefuls. Winning the contest gave her the opportunity to be a part of the yearly Victoria Secret Fashion show, watched yearly by millions on television. The experience gave Kylie the opportunity to meet some of the world’s most famous models. These were women she looked up to, runway stars like Heidi Klum and Miranda Kerr.
Back in 2003, freelance writer Ed Jakubik’s former high school English teacher inspired him to pen his first book. Ten years later, that work is complete. Ed signed a publishing deal with Nashville based Dunham Books. Now, they are releasing his psychological thriller, The Doll Collector. The story focuses on a detective’s search for a disturbed individual who abducts young girls and leaves doll heads at the crime scenes.
The novel will be available for purchase in an ebook format on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles and other online outlets, starting June 1st. With other psychological thriller novels being made into films such as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Da Vinci Code, it is possible The Doll Collector will follow in their footsteps.
You will, no doubt, remember our coverage of Joe Edwards earlier this month [see here]. He is the Bayonne, New Jersey man challenged with Myelodyplastic Syndrome. This is the same blood disorder that Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts is recovering from [years before her health challenges, we CYInterviewed Robin, see here] after receiving a bone marrow transplant.
This past June, Robin Roberts, of Good Morning America, announced she was dealing with her second health challenge in five years. She announced, on the ABC morning program, that she was challenged with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. This syndrome is a blood disorder impacting the bone marrow. For an individual who is afflicted, a bone marrow transplant is needed. Just this week, it was reported that Robin wants to head back to Good Morning America in February. We are pulling for her recovery.
