For millions worldwide, Justin Bieber is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, music star today. With millions of followers and hundreds of millions of views on various social networking and media platforms, Biebermania is a mega-force in the pop culture.
Justin was born in Canada to Pattie Mallette who, as a single mother, raised him. With over two million of her own Twitter followers, she is using her fame to help others. The NY Times Bestselling author recently released the teen edition of her book Nowhere but Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom.
Next month will make five years since we spoke with actor Omar Benson Miller [see here]. You might recall the actor for his role in the Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and Jennifer Lopez movie Shall We Dance or for his recurring spot on the TV show CSI: Miami.
Over the years, people have ended up on CYInterview in their quest to figure out if Mr. Miller is related to Oscar winning actor Forest Whitaker. In 2008, Omar told us a rumor began on Wikipedia which led some to believe the two were related. Though no one can deny the physical resemblance, they are not related.
Over the last year we have kept you up to date on our meet ups with the beautiful and charming Lisa Hochstein of The Real Housewives of Miami. Every time we see her, we enjoy her positive and fun personality. She is a sweetheart.
Last October we visited her at her home for her in-depth CYInterview [see here]. During the interview, Lisa showed off the beautiful gown she would go on to wear at the Miami Make-A-Wish Ball.
Earlier this month we shared with you our CYInterview with retired NFL running back Clinton Portis [see here] from Irie Weekend. During the weekend festivities we also spoke with musician Chris Kirkpatrick, known to many from the popular 90s/early 2000s boy band ‘N Sync. Post ‘N Sync, Mr. Kirkpatrick continues to work on his music and represents musical acts, among other things.
Chris told us about his upcoming wedding, charitable causes and spoke about the possibility of an ‘N Sync reunion.
John Rich is one of country music’s success stories. He has succeeded as a solo artist and as half of the music group Big and Rich. As a songwriter he has penned a reported 13 top ten hits for artists including Taylor Swift and Faith Hill. Beyond country music, he is known as one of the winners of Donald Trump’s NBC reality show, Celebrity Apprentice.
John tells a modern day tale of rags to riches, going from a trailer park to stardom and having 46 employees. In speaking with him, it became readily apparent that he is a man who pulls no punches, whether talking anything from country music to politics.
Last month, we brought you photos from Lea Black’s cocktail party, at her beautiful home in Coral Gables [see here]. Lea is returning to the Real Housewives of Miami. Earlier this week, we brought you photos with the stars from Irie Weekend [see here]. Now comes our first CYInterview from the festivities. It is a conversation with retired NFL running back Clinton Portis. Mr. Portis played in the NFL, from 2002 to 2010, with the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins.
Last week, celebrities made their presence felt in South Florida for the annual Irie Weekend festivities. Athletes, music stars and actors, among others, made the three day affair one to remember. The annual event is put on by DJ Irie. The Miami Heat’s disc jockey is currently one of the most in demand nightlife entertainers in the country. You can see me with DJ Irie in the photo above.
Mr. Irie is also actor Jamie Foxx’s personal DJ. Whenever Jamie has a party, DJ Irie is the man he calls. He has appeared on such programs as Good Morning America and The Early Show. Irie Weekend raises money to assist at risk youth. The organization provides scholarships, mentoring and cultural experiences to children in need.
This past Friday evening, members of the cast of The Real Housewives of Miami and country music star John Rich met up at Roy and Lea Black’s Coral Gables home for a special get together/cocktail party. Above you can see me with Lea, who is an absolutely superb hostess by the way.
At the party, in addition to Miami’s beautiful people, there were mouthwatering hors d'oeuvres and plenty to drink. Guests were treated to classical music until John Rich arrived and performed in the living room. Before his performance, we had a chance to do a sit down CYInterview with him, covering his career, politics and much more. Our candid conversation with the country music star will be released exclusively, here on CYInterview, in the coming days.
