Being a cast member of the 1970s hit television show Happy Days, Anson Williams made a name for himself playing the ever likeable Warren “Potise” Webber. Beyond being on that iconic show, from its beginning to its end, Anson has had a successful career as a TV director. He has directed episodes of popular TV shows including Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place. Mr. Williams has also been an entrepreneur.
Anson is currently promoting something he created, with input from his now deceased, famous cousin, Dr. Henry Heimlich. Dr. Heimlich, of course, is most well-known for creating the Heimlich maneuver, the technique which can help save people who are choking.
Anson’s new product is meant to address drowsy driving. Driving while feeling drowsy can lead to falling asleep at the wheel of a car, something that, frighteningly, he says he has experienced. With the help of Dr. Heimlich, Anson has produced what he says is an all-natural, citrus infused spray called Alert Drops. The actor/director claims Alert Drops will help a person stay awake. You can find more information about his product at www.alertdrops.com.
Gary Stretch is a man of many talents. An accomplished boxer, he is a former WBC International Light Middleweight Champion. Arguably, his most prominent fight occurred in 1991 when he fought Chris Eubank in the billed Beauty v The Best contest for the WBO World Middleweight Championship.
If Mr. Stretch’s saga ended there, his life would be remarkable. But he was just getting started. Gary went on to have a career in modeling and acting. His acting work includes roles in the 2004 film Alexander and the 2006 movie World Trade Center.
For weight training enthusiasts, maintaining big arms as one begins to enter midlife and beyond, makes for an interesting topic. There is no one better to talk about that than golden age bodybuilder and frequent CYInterview guest Ric Drasin. The host of the popular YouTube show Ric's Corner is back to discuss that subject, as well as reflect on some golden age bodybuilding stories. Featured columnist Jay Bildstein joins us for this segment.
Speaking of big arms, Ric told us during our discussion that bodybuilding legend Dave Draper once told him, "Don't over train your bicep. It'll turn into a peanut." Having big arms is often a goal, stated or not, of people who lift weights.
In the 1970s, one of the popular television shows in the United States was Little House on the Prairie. One of the characters in the show was Nellie Oleson, played by actress Alison Arngrim. Today, the now veteran entertainer has a one woman show titled Confessions of a Prarie Bitch. This past weekend, she had two performances of the show at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York.
In the acting world, Ms. Arngrim has teamed up with frequent CYInterview guest Mason Reese, to produce a pilot for the sitcom, Life Interrupted, which will hopefully be picked up. You can see the pilot, broken down into 5 minute segments, on YouTube. In Life Interrupted, Ms. Arngrim plays the ex-wife of Mason’s eponymous character. Her role in the series is up for Emmy nomination consideration, in the Best Actress in Short Form Comedy category.
