Over the last two weeks, we have brought you coverage of the 20th edition of The Blacks’ Annual Gala. You can see it all here: [here]. Luminaries attending the philanthropic soiree like hosts Lea and Roy Black, Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Courtney Love, no doubt, anxiously awaited the evening’s main event. And that main event did not disappoint. It was masterfully executed by a living legend.
At 72 years old, the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin put on an inspiring concert that electrified the ballroom at the Fountainbleu Hotel on Miami Beach. Earlier in her performance, Ms. Franklin sang Grammy winner Adele’s Rolling in the Deep. That cover is on Aretha’s new album Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics.
Over the last two years, we have had various opportunities to speak with Real Housewives of Miami star Lisa Hochstein, a model and philanthropist, and her husband Dr. Lenny Hochstein, a prominent plastic surgeon. See/listen to some of those CYInterviews here.
The Hochsteins’ came out to support their friends Lea and Roy Black, as they have in the past, at this year’s The Blacks’ Annual Gala – the 20th anniversary of the event. Lisa wore a stunning gown from designer Claudio Milano. The couple just celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. They told us what they did for their anniversary and what is new in both of their lives.
Yesterday, we reported on the 20th edition of The Blacks’ Annual Gala [see here]. The yearly event would not be possible without the good work of Miami’s socialite, powerhouse Lea Black. Her husband, prominent attorney Roy Black [see our photo above] always lends his support for the event, making the couple a philanthropic dynamic duo.
Over the years, Lea and Roy have been guests on CYInterview. Now they both share their thoughts on celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Gala, as well as what they are up to.
Celebrities and assorted Miami’s who’s who came out to celebrate the 20th iteration of The Blacks’ Annual Gala. The yearly event is put on by the “Social Mayor of Miami,” entrepreneur, author and Real Housewives of Miami star Lea Black and her powerhouse, attorney husband Roy Black. Attorney Black has, over the years, represented a variety of high profile individuals. Earlier this year, he began representing Justin Bieber.
At the event, Ms. Black was honored by Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine with the presentation of the key to the city of Miami Beach. Mayor Levine also proclaimed October 25th, 2014 Lea Black Day. In coming days, we will share with you our latest CYInterviews with both Lea and Roy.
The last year has been an exciting one for Samantha Hoopes. The 23 year old, Pennsylvanian model on the rise made her first appearance earlier this year in the coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. The blonde beauty also worked for Guess.
Last month, Ms. Hoopes walked for the first time in Miami Swim Week. Fellow Sports Illustrated swimsuit models Nina Adgal and Hannah Davis were in the front row cheering Samantha on, as she debuted in that big week of swimsuit fashion shows.
This is arguably the biggest week in the swimsuit world. Buyers, global media, models and fashion enthusiasts partake of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. Also known as Miami Swim Week, there are lots of other swimsuit events beyond Mercedes-Benz, taking place. This is also one of the busiest weekends of the year on South Beach. This year’s events are running from Thursday July 18th to Monday July 21st.
Yesterday evening, we had a chance to attend Beach Bunny’s swimsuit show. Numerous models walked the catwalk, showing a set of original designs by Phillipe and David Blond. It was Beach Bunny’s 2015 spring collection presentation.
It is always a delight to see Joanna Krupa out and about in Miami. The blonde beauty is always full of energy. The internationally known supermodel, philanthropist and Real Housewives of Miami Star recently attended the Catwalk for Charity event here. Proceeds from the event went to the Breakfast with Santa organization to help children who live in Miami’s Little Haiti, other parts of the city and the country of Haiti as well.
You might recall that we saw Ms. Krupa last year at the “Social Mayor of Miami,” Lea Black’s annual star studded Gala [see here] as well at Lea’s home when country music star John Rich was there for a soiree [see here].
Currently one of the most talked about women in reality television, model/actress Cynthia Bailey garnered substantial attention during this past season’s Real Housewives of Atlanta. Ms. Bailey, who is the CEO of her own modeling school, The Bailey Agency, recently visited Miami for the yearly Catwalk for Charity Event.
This year’s festivities included fashion shows from designers Nicole Miller and Gustavo Cadile. The event raises money for Breakfast with Santa, which assists underprivileged kids in Miami’s Little Haiti, other parts of the city and the nation of Haiti as well.
The stars came out for the annual Catwalk for Charity event this past weekend. The yearly get-together of the Haitian community Miami’s luminaries and other celebrities benefits the Breakfast with Santa Organization. The event raises money to support underprivileged children in Miami’s Little Haiti, neighboring communities in South Florida and Haiti as well.
One of the stars in attendance this year was actress, singer and past CYInterview guest Tatyana Ali [see here]. Many will recall Ms. Ali for her role as Ashley Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, among many other things. Ms. Ali, a Harvard graduate, has continued her trajectory in show business with various acting and music projects.
Gabrielle Anwar danced the tango with Al Pacino in the movie Scent of a Woman and, most recently, starred as Fiona Glenanne in the USA Network TV show Burn Notice. In 1994, she was named one of People Magazine’s most beautiful people. Additionally, but no less of note, Ms. Anwar supports philanthropy in Miami.
