Known as the Green Fairy in the popular Las Vegas show Absinthe at Caesars Palace, Melody Sweets is a showgirl, singer, producer and can no doubt strike a pose. Absinthe is an acrobatic, cabaret variety show. Audiences witness many amazing feats performed by different artists.
Aside from being in a long running Las Vegas production, Melody is also a producer of her own variety shows. Her latest is this Saturday night July 30th at midnight. It’s called Call of the Wild! Jungle Burlesque and will take place at the Absinthe Spiegeltent at Caesars Palace. Most of the proceeds from the evening’s event will benefit Las Vegas legends Siegfried and Roy’s Sarmoti Foundation. The charitable organization raises money to help protect endangered animals worldwide. See Melody with Siegfried and Roy above, when they attended Absinthe back in 2012.
We had a chance to speak with Melody about her latest production and her career as a multitalented entertainer. You can read the highlights and listen to the entire CYInterview below:

Regarding her latest production, Call of the Wild! Jungle Burlesque, at the Absinthe Spiegeltent at Caesars Palace on Saturday July 30th at midnight, Melody Sweets said this is what the Las Vegas audience can expect:
“Saturday night’s show as you said is called Call of the Wild! Jungle Burlesque and it is a show where the proceeds will go to the Sarmoti Foundation, which is Sigfried and Roy’s foundation for endangered species all over the world. We are gonna concentrate on big kitty cats because I love big kitty cats. And the show is gonna be really wild. We’ve got an international cast of circus performers, of comedians, of burlesque performers and some really interesting variety acts.”
Known as the Green Fairy from the hit Caesars Palace show Absinthe, Melody loves to produce one night only variety shows like Call of the Wild! because that is a part of her show business background:
“That’s my background. That’s how Absinthe found me. I produced my own shows in New York and I’ve done a lot of touring and I just enjoy the process of organizing it and the creative process of it all and bringing all, really it’s just a big excuse to have all my friends come visit, but, you know, I enjoy surrounding myself by interesting and motivating people and that’s how it happens.”
Most of the proceeds from Call of the Wild will benefit Siegfried and Roy’s Sarmoti foundation which helps protect endangered animals. Back in 2012, Siegfried and Roy attended Absinthe and Melody got a chance to meet the legendary Las Vegas duo:
“It was an honor to have them in the audience first of all. They came to see Absinthe and I was doing an act in the show at that time called voodoo and it was this tiger woman outfit and it was just so perfect that they were there and I was able to perform that for them and after the show, I was like, please let me get this photo of these icons in this costume and it was really wonderful. And they’re extremely sweet human beings and just to think what they’ve accomplished in their lifetime already and the whole Sarmoti Foundation has really touched me. And so I’m looking forward to this show and hope that I can raise a lot of money for them.”
If you are in Las Vegas and go by to see the Absinthe show, you will see Ms. Sweets as the Green Fairy. She tells us about her role:
“In Absinthe, when you drink Absinthe, the folklore is that when you get drunk off Absinthe, you see the Green Fairy, she magically appears and I play that role. I sing. I sing my own original music and I come down from the sky and do a little burlesque striptease and get thrown around by some acrobats, you know, as one does. Good times.”
