Scott Reading, MC of Thunder From Down Under at the Excalibur in Las Vegas, Speaks With Us
The voice of Thunder From Down Under, at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino, has a long history in the Entertainment Capital of the World. Six nights a week, MC Scott Reading gets the crowd pumped up for this male revue featuring men with chiseled bodies, all of whom are from Australia. He has been with the male revue since 2003.
Before he became the host of one of the longest running shows on the Las Vegas Strip, Scott was one of performers in the popular male revue:
“I got sent over here in 2003 to be a performer in the show. I performed in the show for I think it was like 15 years, 16 years and then had a couple of years off and then good old Covid hit and I, someone joked and said, ‘Hey, you want to be the MC?’ I said, ‘Yeah. I’ll give it a go.’ I probably MC’d once or twice when I was performing. Yeah. I just said, ‘I’ll do it.’”
The host of Thunder From Down Under says it is hard for some female attendees to believe all of the show’s performers are from Australia:
“It’s very strange because a lot of ladies will say, ‘You guys aren’t all from Australia.’ And it’s like, why is that impossible? But like why is that impossible that you have like 10 guys on stage that are all from Australia and all got sent here from Australia to do this show and they still don’t believe you.”
Scott revealed to us that there are dedicated fans who have seen Thunder From Down Under in Las Vegas more than 100 times:
“We do have some fans, some ladies that have been to 110, 120 shows. They, like, we have ladies coming tonight, I think it’s 120th show. … We know their names and they just keep coming to the show. There is quite a few ladies like that. They bring their family. They bring their husbands.”
