In Clark County, Nevada, where Las Vegas is located, the highest point is Mount Charleston.
For residents of Las Vegas, Mount Charleston has been a year-round getaway, providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of the Entertainment Capital of the World. Depending on the time of year, hiking and skiing are popular activities there.
Since 1946, Mt. Charleston Lodge has been providing great experiences for visitors, allowing them to stay cool during the summer and warm during the winter. Special events, including weddings, have been held there.
Last month, on September 17th, an accidental fire destroyed Mt. Charleston Lodge. The owners, the Ellis family, who also own Ellis Island Hotel and Casino, plan to rebuild it.
Ellis Island general manager Christina Ellis said this, of the unfortunate event:
“And while we are committed to rebuilding, our first priorities are to take care of the team members and guests who helped make The Lodge feel like a second home to so many.”
According to the website for Mt. Charleston Lodge, the cabins – which were separate and apart from the main building, the Lodge proper, which burnt down – are now open for occupancy. There will be a daily continental breakfast provided for guests and more food options are being worked on. You can find more information by clicking here.
We at CYInterview are keeping all those impacted by this fire in our thoughts and prayers.
