Past CYInterview Guest Jake Roberts A&E Biography
Last night, A&E aired a biography on pro wrestling legend, multiple time past CYInterview guest Jake “The Snake” Roberts [see here]. With last night’s WWE Biography airing, I wanted to share a quick history of my time with the master of the DDT.
I first spoke with Jake Roberts in 2002, when he was living in London, England. At that time, we did multiple interviews covering his life, as well a variety of pro wrestling topics. Those interviews garnered significant attention in the pro wrestling community.
During my college years, at the University of Florida from 2007 to 2009, Jake was living near the college campus. I spent time with him on multiple occasions during those years. He even attended my graduation from the university, in 2009. I was grateful he was there, on one of the most important days of my life. You can see that photograph above.
My next experience with Jake Roberts took place eight years later in 2017, when he was living here in Las Vegas. I went over to his home, where we reconnected and did a CYInterview, which you can see and listen to here.
From watching the A&E Biography, it appears to me that Jake “The Snake” Roberts is doing well today. I am glad he is on a positive trajectory. There were lots of people who counted him out long ago. It was nice to see him enjoying time with his family.
As long as we are alive, it is never too late to try to turn our life around.
