On Eve of 2021 U.S. Presidential Inauguration, We Remember Meeting Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin at The Blacks’ Annual Gala; Late, Legend Sang at President Obama’s 2009 Inauguration
Tomorrow is the Presidential Inauguration of Joe Biden. He will become the 46th President of the United States. Kamala Harris will become the Vice President. In 2009, the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin sang My Country Tis of Thee at Barack Obama’s first term Inauguration.
We met the legendary Ms. Franklin in 2014 in Miami Beach, after her captivating performance at The Blacks’ Annual Gala. We will forever be grateful to Lea and Roy Black for making that happen.
