Oh My, Oh Mya! Mega-talent Mya Performs at Mokai Miami on Miami Beach; Chris Yandek Gets to Do the Nightclub Thing with a Slice of Lady Marmalade Hotness!

I spent this past Thursday night, or should I say early Friday morning, hanging out with the beautiful and talented singer/actress Mya, at Mokai Miami on Miami Beach. I’ve met Mya before, and, she has graced the pages of CYInterview. Because she is so nice and down to earth, it is easy to forget that Mya is a star. But a star she is, a shining one.

Mya has been appearing at events nationwide, promoting her new album titled K.I.S.S. [keep it sexy & simple]. At the Mokai Miami, she made a better than three hour appearance. The R&B singer got up with the club’s DJ and performed numerous songs, as well as giving out some of free albums to the packed audience.

Many will recall that back in 2009 I was fortunate enough to land the first interview with Mya after it was announced she would be part of the cast of Dancing with the Stars [see here]. Ms. Harrison (Yes, the great Mya has a last name!) was the runner up for that show’s season. Our CYInterview was covered on Page Six of the New York post [see here].

With the Lovely Talented Mya

Mya is a mega-talent. She is everything a star should be. She can sing; boy can she sing. She can dance. She can act. She is gorgeous. Most importantly, however, she is a quality human being with a wonderful heart. She is unassuming and nice as can be. Over the years Mya has been kind enough to assist CYInterview on a variety of efforts. For example, as a spokesperson for the North Shore Animal League, she gave us a statement on the Target dog tragedy back in 2010 [see here].

We also spoke this past year about her New York City Marathon run for Team Animal League [see here].

Thanks to Mya, her point person/stylist Leon Frager – a terrific guy by the way –and the excellent staff of Mokai Miami – a rocking place if there ever was one – for a great night of fun. An added bonus was meeting Stephen Brevig of Premium Image Studios and Tatiana Noboa of Capitol Collective, as well as lots of other great folks. Mya’s outfit was designed by Natalya Toporova. In truth, I can’t wait until next time.
