Music Star on the Rise: DJ Millie Takes over Las Vegas Nightlife Hot Spot, The Light, at Mandalay Bay Resort Casino; CYInterview on Hand
When looking at a DJ on the rise, we should analyze the venues they are performing in. DJ Millie is no doubt spinning her tracks at big events. She was at Coachella this year at the HP Lounge. For the last two years, she was the DJ for the Wearable Art Gala, an event put on by Richard Lawson and Tina Knowles, Beyonce’s mother. And for those wondering, yes, Beyonce was there.
Additionally, she performed at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans and has even DJed an event for Serena Williams, for a clothing line the tennis great had out. This past weekend, DJ Millie made her presence known in Las Vegas at The Light at Mandalay Bay Resort Casino. What is great about the Willhemenia model’s music presentation – yes she is a model too – is that she is really into the music she is playing. She dances and sings along to her tracks, while interacting with the crowd. Her playlist included everything from Cardi B to some relatively old school Ludacris.
The Light was a great Las Vegas venue for DJ Millie to showcase her skills. Whether you are interested in sitting back and lounging or you want to be down in front of the stage on the dance floor, The Light is capacious, providing nightclub goers many different views and experiences. You can enjoy being there without ever busting some moves. The nightlife hotspot is worth visiting, while in the Entertainment Capital of the World. Additionally, it has great acoustics.
Before DJ Millie went on early Sunday evening, we had a chance to speak with her backstage for a few minutes. See our photo above. She told me she had been DJing for five years and talked about her continued challenges in pursuit of greatness in that realm. Her father was a bass guitarist for both Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross. No doubt, musical ability runs in her family.
The audience enjoyed her energy, as she did her best to make it a night to remember for the Vegas club goers. We believe she accomplished that feat.
