Multitalented Actor/Comedian/DJ Shawn Wayans to DJ at Jewel Nightclub at the Aria Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip on July 16th; Joins us to Talk about that and more
For more than 20 years, Shawn Wayans and his brother Marlon have entertained the country through their standup comedy, TV shows and movies. It is amazing to think it has been close to 20 years since Shawn was last on the hit TV show The Wayans Bros. In the entertainment industry, where so many acts have a short shelf life, Shawn and his brother Marlon along with their other siblings Damon and Keenan have continued to stay relevant in show business. On the key to their success, he told us:
“We continue to move with the times. We’re constantly growing and pushing ourselves to explore more than the original form of entertainment that we all started with and just continue to grow.”
Aside from acting and standup comedy, another passion for Shawn is music. He currently tours the country as a DJ. He has two upcoming appearances. On July 12th and July 13th, he will be at the Long Beach, California venue Harvelle’s. A night of comedy with Shawn Wayans will be held there on the 12th and then on the 13th there will be a Latin music night when he will DJ.
On July 16th the comedian and actor will then head over to Las Vegas to DJ at Jewel Nightclub at the Aria Resort and Casino, on the Strip. Have an opportunity to DJ in the Entertainment Capital of the World is a big thing for Shawn. He tells us what it means to him:
“For me, I’m an artist. So it’s another form of expression and you get the same high from me rocking a crowd, making them laugh to be able to rock a crowd and make them dance, which are two of the most joyful things you could possibly do in your lifetime, other than probably have sex. But those two things bring a lot of joy to people and that’s what it is for me.”
