Multi-talented Entertainment Powerhouse Lorena Peril, Host of Fantasy at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas – An Anita Mann Production – Joins Us to Talk About the Show, Her Career and Keeping In Shape to Return to Performing
With the coronavirus pandemic causing vast challenges for humankind, entertainers in Las Vegas are trying to find ways to stay busy and healthy, as they look forward to getting back to work in the future.
One of the best singers on the Las Vegas Strip is also the host of the long running female revue Fantasy. Lorena Peril is the voice for this production, which celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Luxor Hotel and Casino last year. See our coverage of that celebration at the Luxor by clicking here.
The beautiful and talented women of Fantasy do many great dance numbers during the show. And Lorena Peril’s singing throughout the production is a great representation of some of the high caliber entertainers who have enthralled audiences from across the globe, right here on the Las Vegas Strip.
Lorena Peril joins us on CYInterview to talk about her journey as a singer. It was in her childhood that the Vegas entertainer realized she could sing. Lorena thanks her father for buying her a karaoke machine to work on singing, in a bunch of different genres. She spoke with us about when her singing turned serious and she knew that she could have a career as an entertainer. That led her to being a headliner in Fantasy at the Luxor Hotel and Casino:
“Honestly, right out of high school, my plan was just to be a housekeeper. That’s what I thought was normal back then for me. I didn’t want to be a singer or live in L.A. or live out of my car. I didn’t pursue that kind of fame. And so, I followed in my mother’s footsteps and became a housekeeper for four or five years and then had an office job and then became a singer. I got discovered on a cruise ship as a guest, just as a guest on vacation. I sang one talent show and that was it. I packed my bags, became a full-time singer since 2000.”
On having a pause from her nightly performances on the Las Vegas Strip at the Luxor Hotel and Casino, Lorena offered this perspective on how the coronavirus pandemic has made her see things:
“I noticed, I don’t know if you can agree with me, but this whole pause that we’ve had lately, I feel like I’m appreciating more things in life than ever. My health, my life, my family. You know, I think we’ve become more humanitarian if that makes any sense. It’s bringing us closer together and people are being kinder.”
In the audio of the CYInterview below, Lorena shared some great stories about working with boxer Tyson Fury and NFL great Joe Montana. The talented Ms. Peril even sings for us. You will not want to miss that. The multi-talented performer can really dazzle with a song.
When Lorena Peril reflects back, she says none of the great moments she talked to us about would have been possible without Fantasy producer, past CYInterview guest Anita Mann [see here]:
“I wouldn’t be able to do any of this if it weren’t for Anita Mann. I mean, she gave me the opportunity to headline the show on the Las Vegas Strip. I will never take my job for granted and because of that, we have great PR people who, you know, I wouldn’t be able to be doing these kind of things like the Tyson Furys and the anthems and promos and charity events if it weren’t for me being part of Anita Mann Productions.”
