Magician Douglas “Lefty” Leferovich and Michael Mayfield Bring Brainchild, Late Night MAGIC, to Las Vegas Stage at Alexis Park All Suite Resort

When not performing magic with his pal, past CYInterview guest Murray the Magician [see here and here], at Las Vegas’s storied Tropicana Hotel and Casino, past CYInterview guest Douglas “Lefty” Leferovich [see here] is busy working on other entertainment projects. He has even worked with a few past CYInterview guests on their shows.

He was hired by dancer, choreographer, producer and Las Vegas headliner Jennifer Romas [see here and here] to consult and produce video content featured during Ms. Romas’s tantalizing Sexxy: The Show, which takes place at the Westgate Resort and Casino. The show is currently on hiatus due to local rules occasioned by Covid-19.

Mr. Leferovich also worked with dancer, choreographer and Las Vegas show producer Lindsley Allen [see here] consulting and doing graphic design for Cherry Boom Boom, which took place at the former Hooters Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, then renamed Oyo Hotel and Casino. This dazzling show is also on hiatus due to the pandemic.

As far as his performing background, Mr. Leferovich is an accomplished magician who has performed worldwide over the last 20 years. His latest venture in Las Vegas is producing and hosting a magic show titled Late Night MAGIC. It takes place at the Alexis Park All Suite Resort on Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30 PM. The hotel is just one mile east of the Las Vegas Strip.

Lefty recently answered some questions we had about his new show.

CYInterview: Tell us about Late Night MAGIC.

Douglas Leferovich: The brainchild of Michael Mayfield and Douglas Leferovich, Late Night MAGIC, is the answer to magic shows too frequently focusing on being “family-friendly” when so much of magic’s history and mystery is dark, edgy, and often sexy. Pete Housley, CEO of Admit VIP, has joined the team as Executive Producer for Late Night MAGIC to elevate it to a resident show at the Alexis Park Resort Hotel.

CYInterview: Are you the permanent host?

Douglas Leferovich: Yes, I am the permanent host of Late Night MAGIC. However, if I ever have to go to LA to film a TV show, being a resident show in Las Vegas, there are plenty of quality magicians who are willing to fill in. Since announcing the show starting at Alexis Park this week, we have received a bunch of requests on our social media platforms from magicians across the country wanting to be part of the show. Also, since Vegas is known as the magic capital of the world, we wanted the ability to rotate acts periodically to keep the show fresh, so tourists returning to Vegas will see something new when they come back to this show.

CYInterview: Do you do any of your own magic acts during the show?

Douglas Leferovich: To start, I will be performing my signature card manipulation act. Hosting Late Night MAGIC really gives me an opportunity to work on my “comedy chops” since for the last eight years I have been doing silent acts to music as the guest act in Murray the Magician’s show at various properties on the Las Vegas Strip.

CYInterview: The show takes place at 10:30 PM on Friday and Saturday nights at Alexis Park All Suite Resort correct?

Douglas Leferovich: Correct. After we are open for the first month or so, we will see what the demand is for the show. If things are going well, especially since we are following the strict Covid guidelines of a maximum of 50 audience members per show, then we might add other days of the week.

CYInterview: Is there anything else you want to mention?

Douglas Leferovich: Michael Mayfield and I created Late Night MAGIC to allow some of Las Vegas’ top magicians who didn’t yet have their own shows on the Strip, and also were not the traditional ‘magician in a tuxedo and top hat. First, we knew we wanted it to be a late-night show so the acts could cater to adults. Second, we wanted to feature multiple magicians that are experts in their particular fields, like comedy magic, sideshow shenanigans, mind-blowing mentalism, and unique manipulation.

Lastly, the first four acts featured on the show this weekend have been seen on stage at major Las Vegas strip hotels and The Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA, as well as on national and international TV shows like America’s Got Talent, Masters of Illusion, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and Ghost Adventures.

Late Night MAGIC takes the stage Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30 pm at Alexis Park All Suite Resort. For tickets and more information, visit www.ticketkite.com.
