Looking Back at Better Times and Looking Forward to Good Times Once Again: Our Red Carpet CYInterview with Derek Hough of Dancing with the Stars Fame, at the Power of Love Gala at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Last Month
Last month, professional dancer/choreographer/musician/reality star Derek Hough came to Las Vegas to look at the Donnie and Marie showroom at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino, to get the ball rolling on the plans for his Las Vegas show. The show had been scheduled to open at the beginning of June. Those plans have come to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Dancing with the Stars alum had shows scheduled through November. Only time will tell if any of those performances will take place.
Derek Hough spoke to us a few weeks back, at the Power of Love Gala at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Over the years, CYInterview has covered many of the celebrities and professional dancers who have appeared on Dancing with the Stars, going all the way back to season one.
Derek was past CYInterview guest, supermodel Joanna Krupa’s [see here] professional dance partner for season nine, which was won by former Las Vegas show residency star, entertainment legend Donny Osmond. That season also featured runner up, past CYInterview guest, music superstar/Grammy winner Mya [see here].
Interestingly, it has been more than a decade since Derek was on season nine of Dancing with the Stars with Donny Osmond and now is slated to perform, hopefully, in Mr. Osmond’s Las Vegas showroom this year if he is given the green light.
Speaking about being on Dancing with the Stars, which vaulted him into other entertainment projects, Derek Hough told us this:
“Eclectic. I got to meet so many different people all from so many different walks of life and professions. Everything from astronauts to race car drivers to Oscar winners to Grammy winners, you know, so it’s, it was an amazing experience to meet such a wide variety of people and make relationships.”
