For the last 20 years, one Las Vegas resort has been making its own eggnog for the holidays. Located just east of the Las Vegas Strip, Ellis Island Casino and Brewery has used 131,000 eggs and 13,000 bottles of liquor to make its Holiday Nog, over the course of two decades.
Ellis Island Owner Gary Ellis discovered the recipe after his grandfather, Frank Ellis Sr. died. The story goes that Frank Ellis Sr. learned of the recipe from a passenger, while he was traveling on a ship from Italy to the United States in 1953.
Ellis Island’s Holiday Nog has been offered to its customers, at holiday time, since 2002. Yesterday, it went on sale once again. The holidays are upon us folks!
