On NBC’s Sunday Night Football, on the last play of the NFL regular season in overtime, the Las Vegas Raiders kicked a game winning field goal to clinch a playoff berth.
The Silver and Black defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 35 to 32. Four weeks ago, not many people expected the Raiders to make the playoffs. Winning their final four games, it is the first time since 1961 that an NFL team has made the playoffs after a head coaching change in the middle of a season.
All through last night’s NBC broadcast, shots of the Las Vegas Strip were shown to the nation. Football has truly taken hold here in the Entertainment Capital of the World and the last game of the NFL season was arguably the best.
The Raiders will travel to take on the Cincinnati Bengals this coming Saturday at 4:30 PM, in the wildcard round of the NFL playoffs. The Silver and Black marches on.
