Janae Longo Tributes Adele in Legendary Divas, Tropicana Las Vegas
In January, music superstar Adele postponed her Caesars Palace Las Vegas residency. The announcement left some fans disappointed that they would have to wait to see the Someone Like You singer, in the Entertainment Capital of the World.
If you are currently looking for a dose of Adele in Las Vegas, tribute artist Janae Longo is starring as the singer in the show Legendary Divas. The production takes place at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino.
Janae joined us recently on CYInterview to talk about her life as a performer, as well as what it is like tributing Adele.
On when she knew she could be an Adele tribute artist, Janae said this:
“Ever since she released her first album, I resonated with her. Our voices are both mezzo-sopranos, but we both have a bit of raspiness. … When I worked with Carnival Cruise Line for 14 years and there were certain songs that were in our shows, so really from there and learning her inflections and learning all the detail-oriented things about how she performed them, it’s kind of where it started.”
When she performs as Adele, Ms. Longo shared that she does pull from her own life experiences when singing on stage in Legendary Divas:
“I’ve pulled from my life experiences, my life breakups, my life, the same way when she wrote it, that whole album based on a relationship. So, yes, when I sing Someone Like You, I’m definitely pulling from a very specific person and a time in my life.”
