The actress was this year’s celebrity auctioneer for the big party. She is no stranger to the job as she has done it before. Ms. Anwar made her way around the gigantic ballroom, in which the event was being held, showing appreciation to every person who made donations to the Make-A-Wish Southern Florida™ chapter. Gabrielle supports this cause along with her boyfriend Shareef Malnik, who is the event’s Gala Chairman and owner of the famous Miami Beach restaurant The Forge.
“I like my fella. I come here to support him and I get a perk of actually helping as many children as possible, who are suffering escape their pain for just a few days and so it’s quite a privilege to have that opportunity.”
Many know Ms. Anwar from her role on the TV show Burn Notice. The series just had its final episode in September. She told us this:
“It was an extraordinary journey and I’m rather glad that it’s over.”
For her next project, she is working behind the camera on a documentary film:
“I’m actually in the middle of directing a documentary right now. So I’m on the other side of the camera, which is really a treat. … It’s about the vagina.”
