Fremont Hotel and Casino Celebrates 65th Anniversary: Resort Holds an Important Place in Las Vegas History
This week, the Fremont Hotel and Casino celebrated its 65th anniversary. During the mob era of Las Vegas, the Chicago outfit owned the property. Today, it is owned by Boyd Gaming.
When the Fremont opened on May 18th, 1956, it was the tallest building in the State of Nevada. The resort, located on Fremont Street, was where Mr. Las Vegas, Wayne Newton first performed. The hotel and casino is also the location of the only Tony Roma’s restaurant in the city.
Happy Anniversary to the Fremont Hotel and Casino! Here’s to many more.
