For a Taste of New Orleans in Las Vegas Think The Orleans

Las Vegas and New Orleans are known as two of America’s best party cities. However, they are very different. If you want a reminder of The Big Easy, in the Entertainment Capital of the World, you should visit The Orleans. The hotel/casino is west of the Las Vegas Strip.

The outside structures of the resort pay tribute to the kind of real estate you might see walking through the French Quarter in New Orleans. You can see examples in the photograph above, of the outside of The Orleans.

The Orleans opened in 1996. This December 18th, it will celebrate its 25th anniversary. In pop culture history, the hotel was the last venue legendary comedian George Carlin performed at, prior to his death in June of 2008. The Orleans also has an arena that has hosted thousands of people for basketball, hockey and rodeo, among other types of events.

For a taste of New Orleans and Louisiana, Big Al’s Oyster Bar at The Orleans offers Cajun and Creole dishes. Everything from Louisiana crab cakes to crawfish to gumbo is on the menu.

The Orleans Showroom has hosted many great musical acts including past CYInterview guests Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. [see here]. We met them and their 5th Dimension groupmate, past CYInterview guest LaMonte McLemore [see here] at The Orleans in 2019. You can see photos below of us with the music legends.

If you are in Las Vegas, you now know where to find a taste of New Orleans. Let the good times roll.
