Dean of Nevada Political News Coverage, Jon Ralston, Editor of The Nevada Independent, Joins CYInterview for a Discussion of the Upcoming Democratic Debate in the Silver State, Nevada Caucuses, More
The beginning of the voting process to nominate the Democratic candidate for President of the United States is only a few weeks away. After the Iowa Caucuses on February 3rd and the New Hampshire Primary on February 11th, the Nevada Caucuses will take place on February 22nd. At that time, residents of the Silver State will have a chance to select the candidate they most want to represent the Democratic Party.
To understand Nevada politics and the key issues confronting the state, as well as the city of Las Vegas, we invited the editor of The Nevada Independent, Jon Ralston, to CYInterview. Since the 1980s, Mr. Ralston has covered politics and important news stories in the state of Nevada, for a variety of media outlets. There are few people who can speak about Nevada politics with his level of subject matter mastery.
On February 19th, Mr. Ralston’s news organization The Nevada Independent will be teaming up with NBC News, hosting a debate for qualifying Democratic candidates for President. This will take place three days before the caucuses. On whether Mr. Ralston would be one of the moderators for that debate in Las Vegas, he said this, “Hopefully they’re gonna be announced this week, but I think you’ll like the news.”
Featured columnist Jay Bildstein joins us for this important discussion. It is sure to provide everyone a better understanding of the political climate in the state of Nevada. Additionally, Jay and Jon have a discussion about the growing federal government debt and deficit and its long-term impact on the nation.
