Dateline Las Vegas: Saint Patrick’s Day, March Madness, The Neon Museum, Fitzgerald’s and The D, What is the Tie In?
Saint Patrick’s Day is Wednesday. In honor of the holiday, we bring you some Las Vegas history.
From 1987 to 2012, an Irish themed Las Vegas resort decorated with four-leaf clovers, leprechauns and pots of gold was located on Fremont Street. If you were looking for the luck of the Irish, you would have been well advised to visit Fitzgerald’s Hotel and Casino.
In 2012, brothers Derek and Greg Stevens bought Fitzgerald’s and turned the property into The D. Speaking of The D, it is one of the best places in Downtown Las Vegas to watch the NCAA Tournament this week. You can learn about their watch parties by clicking here.
Above is a photo of the original Fitzgerald’s casino sign, which is now located at The Neon Museum.
March Madness is beginning. Have a good week.
